"Doppelgänger" by Treehouse Brewing ★ ★ ★ ★ 1/2
While the 100/100 Beer Advocate rating isn’t what I’d give this, it was VERY good. Initially the taste was bright and fruity with a cascade of sweetness that reminded me of summer. Nice carbonation and mouthfeel. It was a bit heavy and I expected some sediment by the end (there was none) to accompany the weight. There was a ton of papaya and peach flavor that mellowed out on the back end and made there way into a slight maltiness. I’d really love to try this fresh on draught to compare the finish to the 5 week old batch we had in front of us. Overall, this is a world-class IIPA that I’d love to get my hands and mouth on again.
