Recent Film Reviews
“Several standout performances are undercut by the feeling that each actor was given a script with WILDLY different notes on how to play the scenes.”
“What this movie does fairly well is tell these stories in a parabolic way by keeping the theme of “teaching lessons” to children similar to the nature of the book…”
…The problem is that as an audience, we’re comically beaten over the head with this idea so frequently that it gets old before it’s allowed to get scary…
Leave it to the culmination of a (semi?) rebooted franchise to cast charismatic James McAvoy, angsty Michael Fassbender, and a broody-faced Sophie Turner to deliver characters lacking each and every of those qualities.
“…This was a medium entertaining flick with a large identity crisis…”
This is mind-numbing shoot-em-up at it's finest.
….sugary sweet and has the lingering odor of pot smoke. It’s a rom com for a millennial generation that is opinionated, political, woke, open minded, and doesn’t take itself too seriously.
….a fun movie with a solid backbone of metaphorical and sometimes literal life lessons
A very somber mood was set early and maintained throughout with spurts of the type of humor I’ve come to expect from Marvel movies.
I have been watching at least a movie a week for the past two and a half years. In that time, I have always been able to at least GET THROUGH the length of a film. In that respect only, "Hellboy" is exceptional.
Recent Beer Reviews
“It’s tasty but isn’t going to make it into event the top 5 maple beers I’ve ever had.”
“Initially the taste was bright and fruity with a cascade of sweetness that reminded me of summer…”
“This is SO good. Nay, delicious…”
“For it to be as “toned down” as it is, shows a lot of restraint and knowing a bit about Nightmare brewing, this beer could easily have been too bitter and New Glory might’ve made it too sweet…”
“…..a fairly standard “Enjoy By.”
It almost tastes like this wasn’t fermented completely.
