Lost Transmissions ★★

This is a really personal story that attempts to deal with the hardships of schizophrenia- namely what it's like to be in the periphery of someone with it. Unfortunately, it doesn't offer much by way of 'revelation.' This movie seems equally torn between its beliefs that on one hand, "mental illness is a truly frightening thing and we could all stand to learn a bit about it," and on the other, "maybe people with schizophrenia are onto something and if we all just loosened up and did more psychedelics, we'd GET it." That, in particular was an increasingly slippery slope and by the end, this film had lost it's footing almost entirely.
That said, Simon Pegg should absolutely be given more dramatic roles.
