John Wick Chapter 3: Parabellum ★★★★

There's not much to say about any of the John Wick films by way of plot originality. This is mind-numbing shoot-em-up at it's finest. The idea that John Wick as an entity of destruction/skill/legend is perpetuating the world in which HE lives (see the Mark Dacascos character) tickles me to no end and feels like a not-so-subtle nod from the production company saying "SEE. This is how crazy cool John Wick is. Even his enemies revere him!" This movie is longer and bloodier than it's predecessors with performances by actors (some new and some reprising their roles) who have resigned to doubling down on the freneticism, and necessarily the overwhelmingly stylized and almost comic-y state of existence required to thrive in this assassin's world. While I won't be revisiting "Parabellum" anytime soon, I happily acknowledge that it is extremely well done. I had a blast watching it.
