"Black Butte Cubed" by Deschutes ★★★★

The oakiness combined with the “bourbonocity” can really re-flux-capacitate directly into your beer... giving you a way more super ridiculously delicious experience. There’s a TON of barrel there. The fact that it’s been agin in the bottle suggests that most of this flavor occurred in the oak. It’s got some alcohol sharpness on certain parts but it’s really drinkable. This beer is just a really nice enhancement of the original version. It really maintained a lot of the things I liked about Black Butte Porter and it added a lot of things that I enjoy from barell-aged beers. It’s thin but it’s a barrel-aged porter- not a stout and we can’t expect it to be. I would 100% buy the PISS out of this beer again.
